Overview[]
The 1980 Apex KS (Formerly 1980 BKM V2, BKM S1) was a German sports car that was added to Driving Empire on March 31, 2023, along with the remeshed 2016 JB Canmore, 1969 Chronos Blaze, and 2005 Journey Deluxe. The vehicle was put on sale as a limited vehicle for only 3 days with a price tag of $720,484. As of now, a total of 27,536 units were sold.
The vehicle was based on the BMW M1, a mid-engined sports car that was produced by BMW from 1978 until 1981, with only 456 units produced. During that time, Lamborghini entered into an agreement with BMW to build a production racing car in sufficient quantity for homologation, but conflicts arose between the two companies, causing BMW to produce the car themselves. The car featured a unique design by Giorgetto Giugiaro and was often seen in multiple motorsport events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Performance[]
For its performance as a limited car, it featured average handling and brakes with a below-average top speed and acceleration, making this one of the easiest cars to use in the game. That said, its performance made it one of the worst to be used on all races. Overall, it should have been treated as a collector's car.
