This article is about the GT4 variant of the 718 Cayman. For the GT4 RS, see Avidore 3.0R (2022)

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 has been renamed to Avidore ADN 3 due to copyright reasons.

History

The third generation Porsche Cayman is a mid-engined, two-seater sports car manufactured and marketed by Porsche. With the switch to a new turbocharged flat-four engine the marketing name for the models was changed to Porsche 718, in reference to the 718, which won the Targa Florio race in 1959 and 1960. The name is meant to evoke Porsche's past racing successes with light cars like the 718 that outmanoeuvred competitors with larger and more powerful engines.

The 718 Cayman GT4 was revealed in June 2019. It is differentiated from less powerful models by more aggressive bodywork, including a lower stance, new front bumper, a large new diffuser, and exhaust pipes that are spaced farther apart. The GT4 also features larger side intakes and an adjustable wing, the latter of which helps it generate up to 150 kg of downforce, 50 percent more than its predecessor. It has a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-6 which produces 414 hp at 7,600 RPM and 420 Nm of torque at 5,000–6,800 RPM. The engine has cylinder deactivation, a first for Porsche, and is exclusively paired to a six-speed manual transmission. Porsche claims a top speed of 304 km/h (189 mph) for the GT4.

The front suspension and brakes are borrowed from the 911 GT3, and the adaptive dampers, ABS and stability-control programming are borrowed from the 911 GT3 RS. The anti-roll bar end links, camber and toe can be manually adjusted, but the ride height is fixed. It is around 90 kg heavier than the GTS models. Sales commenced in the spring of 2020.

In-Game Information

The Prancep Rover (Porsche 718 Cayman GT4) is a limited vehicle you could only get via a code, which has since expired. It was a popular car at the time the code was available due to its well-rounded stats.

Performance wise, the Cayman is a jack of all trades, having well-rounded stats and no real strengths. Its top speed is decent at 188 mph, which can do well against most early-game vehicles and stock supercars. Its acceleration is good, with a 2.2-second 0-60 time when maxed, though its accelerations dips slightly when reaching 6th gear. Handling is mediocre, and its brakes are decent as well, able to stop the car in under four seconds with the best brakes. This car can do decent in all races, and can do decently well against early-game cars, but will lose to most supercars.

Recommended Upgrades:

  • Any suspension height
  • Drag Engine
  • Twin Turbocharged
  • Race Brakes
  • Insane Grip Tires
  • AWD
  • Powerful Boost (or Premium if you have the gamepass)

Overall, a good early-game car for early-game grinding.
