Overview

The 2019 De Tomaso P72 (Formerly known as 2017 LeMenti HPO 50, 2020 LeMenti P50) is an Italian supercar in Driving Empire that was added in the Wayfort to Driving Empire Update on December 8, 2020. Players can purchase this vehicle in the Cars & Motorcycles Dealership for $935,460.

The car is expected to be released as a licensed vehicle on March 8, 2024.

The car is based on the De Tomaso P72, a supercar developed under the code name, "Project P", by Italian-based automobile manufacturer, De Tomaso. It was first introduced at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed as a concept car and pays a tribute to the De Tomaso P70 prototype racing car. The concept model of the De Tomaso P72 uses a carbon fiber monocoque chassis constructed to LMP1 standards and a 6.3-liter naturally-aspirated F140 V12 engine taken from the Apollo Intensa Emozione. As it is meant to be a grand tourer, the car combines design elements from most modern supercars while keeping its classic design shape that is based on various LeMans race cars from the 1970s, including the P70 prototype race car. The interior also features circular analogue and digital instrumentation to recall the car interiors from the 1960s and 70s, in order to maintain its classic retro appearance. Production of this model is expected to start in 2022 with only 72 units planned to be produced. It was also announced that the production model will feature a 6-speed manual transmission and be powered by a 5.0-Liter supercharged Ford Coyote V8 engine, instead of the 6.3-liter F140 V12 engine that was used within the concept model. Power output figures have not been disclosed as the engine is still in development stage.

Performance

The P72 overall has a mediocre performance as its just another average performing car for its price. Its stats give it a below-average performance on the Drag Race, and an above-average performance on Highway, Circuit, and perhaps Cross Country. You're better off buying and treating this as a collector's vehicle.

Trivia

  • This is the second model from De Tomaso Automobili Ltd. to be added to Driving Empire. The first being the De Tomaso Pantera GT5-S.
  • Since its debut in-game, the car's model itself was never given any updates until it was licensed by Voldex.
  • When it first released, it used to feature random sound files from various cars, which included its startup sound being from a Pagani Huayra BC. This was eventually updated to have sounds from the Apollo IE, since its original concept model used the same F140 V12 engine.
