Overview
The 1985 De Tomaso Pantera GT5 (Formerly known as 1972 LeMenti HPO 40, LeMenti P40) is an Italian sports car in Driving Empire that was added in the 2020 Halloween Update during the Wayfort Era, along with the 1970 Chevey El Spano, 1998 Ziblinglo 604GTR, and 1992 Labhrann F1. Players could obtain this exclusive event vehicle for 700.
This car is expected to be featured as a licensed vehicle on March 8, 2024.
The car is based on the the De Tomaso Pantera GT5-S, which is a mid-engine sports car that was developed by De Tomaso in 1985 with only 183 models built of this particular model. It was basically an upgraded version of the already existing the Pantera GT5, with some additional minor changes such as single piece flared steel fenders instead of the GT5's bolted-on fiberglass flares, and a smaller steel front air dam. It also features aerodynamic improvements over earlier Pantera models, including a redesigned front spoiler and rear wing. The 'S' in the GT5-S name stood for "steel".
Performance
Performance wise, its top speed is very low at just 150 mph stock, which even when upgraded will lose to most cars in highway, however it has great acceleration that is not only consistent but can easily push the car to its top speed with no issues. When maxed it can do 0-60 in 2.1 seconds and can reach its top speed in just over 7 seconds. Accompanied with its excellent handling and strong brakes, this car can do very well in handling races like circuit, although a few cars within its price range can out-handle it, such as the 2022 Veloce Hurricane-T (2022 Lamborghini Huracán STO) and 2019 Veloce Tornado-SJ (2019 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster).
One thing worth noting is that while it may reach 218 mph with boost, the boost struggles to push the car past 203 mph, meaning you can only reach that speed if you're going downhill.
