Overview[]
The 2022 Halloween Event (also referred as Spookfest 2022) was the fourth event to be released by Driving Empire. The event was released on October 29, 2022, and ended on November 5, 2022. It featured the return of Spookfest and the same mechanics from last year's Halloween event. However, instead of pumpkins, the event required the player to collect candies which can be obtained by the falling candies from the sky or completing challenges. Unlike the previous Halloween event, it featured a 2X candy boost every hour which lasted around 5 minutes.
Candy[]
Four types/rarities of candies would appear from the sky and onto the map near players.
Candy Prices[]
As an option, players were allowed to buy candies with Robux.

Race[]

The Spooky Sprint Race venue.
The event also featured a limited time racetrack known as Spooky Sprint. It is regarded as an extremely difficult race that can be said to combine the Cross Country and Highway races, featuring a variety of extremely sharp and/or unexpected corners but also long straightaways. Players would receive 150 candies after obtaining first place. However, a day after the event started, this was buffed to 175 candies.
Customization Items[]
The event also featured a wide variety of customization items for your vehicle, including rims and wraps.

Early Ending of the Event[]
This event was originally scheduled to end on November 15, 2022. However, according to Bourgist, the event ended earlier because of excessive lag between servers, poor retention, dropped player count, and poor sales on the event cars. The poor sales may have happened because candies were very hard to get and it takes players so long to get them. This led to the cars not being bought as much as one could've thought of. This could also be a factor for the dropped player count and the spawning of candies making servers very difficult to function smoothly (hence "poor retention" and "excessive lag between servers").
As a result, the following notes under this heading happened after the event ended.
- All candies not used for purchasing the event cars were repurposed as money given to players. The conversion rate for this was 1:200 (1 candy equaled 200 cash).
- In the Cryptic Circus, there was a mystery car in the middle of the Helix Poke and the Vision Response. This ended up being unrevealed during the event because of the earlier end.
- It was supposed to reveal the 2023 Ballinglo Centonze (Bugatti Centodieci) but it was decided to be released as a limited car for $13,255,960 following the sudden end. Should the Centodieci be released during the event, it would've cost players 50,000 candies.
- Alongside the Ballinglo Centonze, six of the event cars featured in this event were released as limited cars for 24 hours. The following were made as limited cars after the event's end:
- Vitaro T88 (1985)
- Echo Noob Buster (1959)
- Helix Poke (2023)
- It should be noted that the Helix Poke was originally put on sale and placed back into the game as a limited vehicle after its original removal. The difference is that the limited version of the Helix Poke is about three-to-four times expensive as its original on-sale version (Original: $1,950,000 | Limited: $7,317,800).
- Bullet Duff (1969)
- Vision Response (2021)
- Cavallo T412 (1984)
Trivia[]
- This is the second event in Driving Empire to feature its own race. The first being the Winter 2020 Event, which featured an Ice Course race.
- Unlike last year's Halloween event, it did not feature an exclusive leaderboard vehicle.
- This is the third Halloween event to be released by Driving Empire but is also the first to have a signature race.
- Originally, the rare candies gave 12, however, it was buffed to 15 due to minimal candy earnings.
- One of the tombstones in the Shadow Graveyard had the words "R.I.P. Veloce, 2019 - 2022" on it. This tombstone has two references.
- Lamborghini models were removed due to licensing issues with the real-life company.
- Lamborghini was renamed to Veloce to minimize licensing issues until the entire Lamborghini collection's entire removal in 2022.
