Overview
The 2019 McLaren GT (formerly named the 2022 Labhrann Comfort, Labhrann GT, McBlaren GT pre-February 2022) is a British sports car in Driving Empire and was originally added to the game in 2021. As part of the McLaren Licensing Update, it became a licensed vehicle on June 14, 2024.
The McLaren GT is a British sports car and the company's first dedicated grand tourer. The GT was first announced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, but full details of the car were not released until May 15th of the same year. The GT features a new variation of the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The new engine has smaller turbochargers that deliver lower peak performance but greater low RPM-performance and responsiveness. The GT produces 612 hp at 7,000 rpm and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque at 5,500 rpm. The GT has a top speed of 327 km/h (203 mph), can accelerate from 0–97 km/h (0–60 mph) in 3.1 seconds, and 0–200 km/h (0–124 mph) in 9 seconds.
In-Game Information
Previously known as the Labhrann GT, the Labhrann Comfort was hidden along with all of the other Labhrann vehicles in the dealership due to the drama surrounding fake McLaren ambassadors. Around a month later, the Labhrann vehicles were put back into the dealership only to be hidden once again for a second time. After another couple of months, only the remeshed Labhrann vehicles were placed on-sale, which excluded the Labhrann Comfort.
The vehicle received its remesh on September 10, 2022, and was finally placed back on-sale. It remained onsale until it was briefly delisted yet again a few days before the McLaren Licensing Update. Upon the arrival of the update on June 14, 2024, the vehicle returned, now with its real-life name, a different price tag, and a new model complete with stock options.
Performance
The McLaren GT is not a particularly effective racer at any price point, due to performing below the average in every aspect except its acceleration, which is only slightly better than its rivals. Unfortunately, the setbacks of the GT overwhelm the positives, especially considering its heightened driving difficulty.
Overall, this makes the GT a poor choice for a performance car. Players can benefit from much stronger performance by purchasing the De Tomaso Pantera GT5, which is only $20,000 more. The Labhrann Comfort performs below-average on Drag, average on Highway, surprisingly one of the fastest for its price on Circuit and above-average on Cross Country. As it has average top speed, handling and brakes, and below-average acceleration, it's easy to use. But that trait can hold itself back on Cross Country for a bit.
Stock Options
The McLaren GT has three stock options, with two of them modifying the interior, and the other modifying the exterior. Like all stock options, these options are purely cosmetic and do not change the performance of the vehicle.
