Overview[]
The Neighborhood is a major location in the Driving Empire map. It can be seen by driving left from the Cars & Motorcycles Dealership and next to the Drawbridge Sprint Race location.
The original neighborhood featured several homes that players could use as a form of housing. These Homes can be found located in the city of Vine Hill north of the spawn and next to the current Drawbridge Sprint Race location. The only way the location could be accessed was on the street of Broadway. This specific roadway can be found on the intersection with the main road, Xavier Avenue. In this location, there were at least 12 homes, but only five of them could be claimed for free by the player. Players could claim the homes by clicking on the "FOR SALE" sign located at the front of the house. The player also has the ability to move out of their current home by clicking the red home button on the bottom right of their screen if they choose to.
In the Housing Update, the neighborhood was completely revamped and its location was moved to where the Eventfest location used to be. It features several new roads, buildings, and other small areas that players can hangout in. It was also given a distinct name, Laguna Heights. The long-awaited Housing feature was also revamped to the point where players can claim different size plots to spawn different size houses they purchased from the blueprint shop. However, the player can only claim one plot in this location to spawn a house.
On March 31, 2023, the button towards teleporting to the location was moved to the revamped Teleport UI. That said, its official location name was put into it. The island that is also technically part of the neighborhood was also given a name, Laguna Beach.

Trivia[]
- In the old location, there are a total of 12 homes, but only 7 remain to not have an interior.
- Out of the four 2-story homes in the old neighborhood, only one of them feature a different color scheme from the exterior.
- If a player leaves their vehicle or character inside the building when they unclaim a house in the old location, they are pretty much trapped. The only way to fix this is by resetting their character or respawning their vehicle to get it out of the garage.
- The old homes did not feature any interaction with the furniture or appliances for the player.
- In the old neighborhood, there was a palm tree that was planted on top of the concrete path to the 1-story home.
- The 3 dead-end circles in the old neighborhood are called cul de sacs.
- Due to the lack of collisions it is possible to enter the old homes when they're locked. If one spams jump and gets on the roof of the house they can enter the house through the chimney. This is considered a bug.
- This is actually the first location to use gates with opening and closing animations.
- Despite the removal of the old neighborhood location, the booths were reused for the island entrance. However, there are times when the gates go up, but they don't go back down. This was eventually fixed on March 31, 2023.
- The new neighborhood is the first location to use roundabouts.
- The new neighborhood used to be the first permanent location to have a teleport option without using the teleport location UI. Though, this was updated on March 31, 2023, due to the Teleport UI update.
- In the new neighborhood, there are 25 small plots, 8 medium plots, and 16 large plots, which total 49 plots.
- The new neighborhood features a building that acts like a recreational center. At the front of the building, there is Bar N Grill branding in front of it.
- Next to the recreational center building, there is a road line that has its end connected to the intersection in the air.
- For some reason, the player can stand on top of the water at the fountain.
- Unlike the vehicles, you are unable to sell the houses you bought from the blueprint shop.
