Overview[]
Photo Mode was added to Driving Empire on December 23, 2021. It was made as a secondary option for mobile players towards the cinematic camera feature for taking screenshots.
Players can click the camera icon at the top left of their screen to be put into photo mode. Similar to the Free-cam feature, this disables the UI elements to take a screenshot. When the player is put into photo mode, a new GUI menu will pop up along with the Driving Empire logo being shown on the right. In the GUI menu, there are four options that the player can play around with: the in-game time, field of view, depth of field, and the hide character option. Just to note, this feature is all client-sided. This means that only the player itself will be able to see it, not the other players.
The Depth of Field (DOF) effect adds blur to distant parts of their game; however, this blur effect can only be seen on max graphics. Moving the slider to the left or right will move the blur farther from or closer to the player, respectively. They also have the option to disable the setting if they wish. The Time option is used to change the in-game time. They can move the slider left or right to change the in-game time from day to night. The Field of View (FOV) feature is used to zoom in or out on a specific section of the game.

Trivia[]
- On December 11, 2022, there was a bug where pressing "Shift + P" (cinematic camera feature) will show the core UI if the player has Photo mode enabled. Not only it will show the core UI, but all the changes the player made on Photo mode will be reverted back to the game's settings. This was ultimately fixed on January 20, 2023.
- Like said previously, this feature was probably made for mobile players considering the Freecam feature command can only be activated by laptop or PC players.
- As of now, there is no way to remove the Driving Empire logo watermark from Photo mode.
