Overview[]
The 2009 SSC Ultimate Aero (formerly known as the 2010 Samba Aero 2) is an American supercar that was one of the original cars in Driving Empire that was originally released back in September 1, 2020, during the Wayfort Era. It used to be a dominating car in the game and was quite fast for its price. However, it was later removed on January 11, 2021 in favor of the Samba SS Twin Turbo. That same day, the SSC Tuatara was also removed in favor of the Ballinglo Jetback.
During its availability, players could purchase the Samba Aero 2 for $895,870. Those who had the Samba Aero 2 prior to its removal, instead of being given its replacement for free, were instead refunded with the same amount of cash as its buying price, more than enough to purchase the SS Twin Turbo.
On January 26, 2024, the vehicle made a return back to the game as it officially became a licensed vehicle. Compared to it previous model, it includes details such as the official SSC logos, the Utimate Aero name, active aero flaps and increased detail throughout the body, interior, and engine bay. It also got a new price tag of $700,000 and new performance stats compared to its previous model.
This vehicle is a turbocharged variant of the SSC Ultimate Aero, made by SSC North America. The car was upgraded in 2009 with an increase in power of 15% over the older model. Though, in order to prevent the engine from overheating, airflow to the engine was increased by 20% with new carbon fibre louvres. The nose was also redesigned to make the car more aerodynamic, along with its interior to fit that change. The Ultimate Aero TT also included a new AeroBrake system, which is a spoiler that rises up to 200 mm when the brake is pressed. It also held the world production car speed record title, according to the Guinness World Records, from 2007 (when it was officially timed at 255 mph, 410 km/h) until the introduction of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport in 2010.
Performance[]
In terms of its performance, it features an above-average top speed, average acceleration, and above-average handling and braking, making it one of the easiest cars to use. On Drag and Highway, its acceleration and top speed holds it back by a lot, giving it an average performance on the Drag and Highway Races. On Circuit and Cross Country, its lower top speed and above-average braking gives the Ultimate Aero the ability to handle the turns really easily, however, on long distance straights, its acceleration and top speed still holds its back giving it an average performance. Overal, its best that you buy and treat this as a collector's car and save your money for a much better all-around grinding car.
During its debut, it was a rather unrivaled “novice” car in during the Wayfort Era. At 3.2s, it had a good acceleration in terms of its stats, being the second fastest out of all cars in its price range, although its acceleration is hampered by its weight and grip. It has a decent raw top speed (257 mph), but not that bright, only approximately 51 mph slower than its successor (whose top speed is 308 mph). It's handling (1.05G), with its light weight and powerful grip, is good, especially when driving, despite its rear-wheel drive. It has a decent nitro speed and efficiency (3/3/0) as well.
