Overview[]
The 1985 Vitaro T88 (Formerly 1981 Vitesse T88) is an American sports car that was added to Driving Empire in the Spookfest 2022 event for 4,000 candies. After the event's unexpected early departure, it was brought to the dealership for 24 hours with a price of $1,777,776 on November 6, 2022. Only 6,040 units were sold (excluding the units obtained by players during the Spookfest, which have no serial number).
The T88 was removed along with five other vehicles on August 6, 2024. Players received a refund equal to the original vehicle's cost, which was claimable for a maximum duration of one month,
The vehicle is based on the Back to the Future movie spec of the DMC DeLorean. The car in real life has been known to have a reputation for its lackluster performance and poor build quality due to its heavy stainless-steel panels. However, the looks and popularity from the Back to the Future films makes up for it.
Performance[]
In-game, it's one of the worst on Drag and Highway and second slowest on Circuit and Cross Country as it possesses above-average acceleration, average brakes and handling and second worst top speed, resulting it being easy to use and also holding back in all races.
Overall, a collectors car and it shouldn't be used for competition.
